We are seeking talented individuals to join our fast growing Clinical Negligence team.  We currently have opportunities for newly qualified solicitors or trainees nearing the end of their training contract with their current firm and looking to qualify into the team based in our Wilmslow office.

The role will consist of assisting senior lawyers with high value and complex birth injury, clinical negligence, and serious injury claims.  The role will also involve developing and running a small caseload of lower value claims, supervised by a senior lawyer.

Applications will also be considered from individuals who have experience of working in a recognised clinical negligence/serious injury team.  The candidate must be able to demonstrate a real interest and commitment to clinical negligence work and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually. Excellent client care and inter-personal skills by showing empathy and intuition are also essential.   The candidate should be able to demonstrate experience/knowledge of the following aspects of running a clinical negligence claim:

  • Funding arrangements
  • Obtaining medical records
  • Drafting witness statements
  • Reviewing and drafting chronologies
  • Instructing experts/counsel
  • Reviewing expert evidence
  • Drafting letters of claim
  • Drafting schedules of loss and damage
  • Disclosure/Inspection
  • Drafting pleadings and applications.
