Brent is a Partner in the Asset Management team.

His expertise spans all aspects of commercial and agricultural property for development, funding, acquisition and disposal, commercial mortgages, landlord and tenant matters, working with individuals, institutional investors and developers, as well as banks and other secured lenders.

Specialising in equine law, he supports clients with the agreements, disputes and regulation related to the horse industry, including sale and purchase of property and businesses, contract disputes, agreements for racing syndicates and partnerships, transport investigations and specialist compliance.

Brent's clients include public sector organisations and companies in agriculture, retail and leisure including  the University of Chester, Chester Race Company and the National Trainers Federation.

Recent examples of how Brent has supported clients include:

  • assisting the former Welsh Development Authority in the sale of a defunct steel manufacturing site to Toyota, ensuring an island site by negotiating on third-party rights and access;
  • facilitating the gift of a 66 acre site by Shell to Chester University, creating an engineering and technology campus; and
  • enabling the University of Chester to acquire a 160-room former hotel for student accommodation.
