Hilary is a Senior Associate in the Asset Management team.

Experienced in commercial property acquisitions and disposals, development projects including conditional sale contracts, options, overage agreements and promotion arrangements, landlord and tenant matters and property due diligence on company sales and restructures.  She is experienced in renewal energy projects, specifically the development of solar farms, and in the sale and purchase of quarries and the licensing of mines and mineral exploitation rights.

Acting for the owners and occupiers of agricultural land on the acquisition and disposal of farms (including entitlements), the development of farmland, the grant, surrender and termination of farm business tenancies and issues affecting land use arising out of restrictive covenants, easements and licence arrangements.

Working for landowners, landlords and tenants, developers and property investors.  Hilary’s current clients include business payments specialists Bottomline Technologies, 3M, poultry specialists PD Hook (Group) and Hook 2 Sisters and aggregates and construction company Smith & Sons (Bletchington).

Recent examples of how Hilary has supported clients include:

  • supporting Bottomline Technologies in their acquisition of an office building to accommodate a staff of over 500 in a deal worth £16 million;
  • negotiating and settling an overage agreement for Lafarge Tarmac to secure an estimated payment of £200 million for the development of a London Paramount entertainment resort on the Swanscombe Peninsula in Kent; and
  • supporting PD Hook (Group) Limited and Hook 2 Sisters Limited in the acquisition of Bernard Matthews Limited following the company’s collapse into administration.
