Annabelle is a Partner in the Private Client team.

As a mental capacity specialist, she supports vulnerable individuals and their families with their long-term care and financial needs. She has particular expertise in the management of finances for clients with complex needs who lack the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves.

Annabelle is a Court of Protection deputy and acts as an attorney and professional trustee. She also works with individuals who are, or wish to be, appointed as deputy for a relative.

Annabelle undertakes the Court of Protection applications for the appointment of deputies, and for statutory wills and gifts.

Examples of how Annabelle has recently supported clients include:

  • applying for a statutory will ensuring that a client's long held wish that a particular charity should benefit from their estate was realised;
  • successfully applying for a client's family to receive a substantial cash payment to reflect value they had added to the client's property;
  • securing the funding for a client to live in their family home rather than an alternative residential setting;
  • arranging the purchase and adaptation of a property to meet the needs of a client to afford them independence on reaching adulthood; and
  • arranging for a client to be discharged from the Court of Protection on demonstrating that they had regained mental capacity.
