Clare is a Senior Associate in the Development team.

Experienced in the delivery of strategic land matters, acting for both landowners and developers on promotion and option agreements, contracts conditional on planning permission, easements, overage agreements, collaboration and landowner agreements as well as equalisation arrangements.  She is experienced in acting for both investors and corporate occupiers on property acquisitions and disposals, both freehold and leasehold together with on-going asset management.

Clare has specialist knowledge in long term strategic land development projects from initial title preparation, documenting the relationship between landowner and developer, all the way through to planning, ultimate sale and on-going project monitoring where required through the development process.

Clients include property developers, landowners including individuals, family trusts and limited companies, investors and corporate occupiers. 

Recent examples of how Clare has supported clients include:

  • acquisition of rural land for a developer client with the benefit of outline planning permission for 26 units dealing with issues of potential contamination, unregistered land, retained easements and a ransom strip;
  • sale of land subject to a lease for electricity generation dealing with shared access issues, reservations and apportionments; and
  • acquisition of a long leasehold interest in a client’s new headquarters dealing with the requirements of a superior landlord and ongoing liability under developments agreements.
