David is a Partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency team.

With over 20 years’ experience in both contentious and non- contentious matters David seeks commercial, practical solutions to insolvency related issues in both the corporate and personal sectors

David acts for the full range of stakeholders in distress related situations including insolvency practitioners, lenders, borrowers and guarantors.

He is particularly experienced in investigative work, tracing and recovering assets in both corporate and personal insolvency related matters whether through antecedent transaction claims or otherwise.

Examples of how David has supported clients include:

  • Supporting the Joint Liquidators of a property company in the realisation and sale of a freehold property subject to occupation under 28 residential flats with security of tenure and securing a sale by way of auction;
  • Acting for the Joint Administrators of a company operating 14 public houses and facilitating the continuing operation of 8 of those pubs through acquisition by part of the existing management team with the support of an external investor;
  • Representing the Joint Trustees of an individual insolvent estate in the recovery of property assets comprised in a restaurant chain which after repayment of secured debt realised approximately £2,000,000 in the context of estate liabilities in excess of £5,000,000; and
  • Resisting preferential payment claims totalling in excess of £600,000 made upon the holding company by the liquidator of its subsidiary that had entered into compulsory liquidation.
