Eve is a Senior Associate in the Tax team.

Her expertise lies in helping organisations with the tax implications (VAT, capital allowances, SDLT, CIS) of their property transactions. This includes analysing the SDLT consequences of property developments and acquisitions, advising on the most tax efficient way to structure property transactions, and advising on distressed sales.

Eve is experienced in providing tax advice on both domestic and international transactions. She supports a diverse range of clients with property portfolios including public and private sector organisations, developers, house builders, real estate funds (UK and off-shore based) and retailers.

Recent examples of how Eve has supported clients include:

  • supporting a client to understand the tax implications (VAT, capital allowances, SDLT, CIS, CGS, ATED etc.) of the redevelopment of a multi-use site with a gross development value of c. £150 million, including the creation of a new community center, 149 new homes, a hotel, 262 university-related accommodation rooms and studios, retail and restaurants;
  • working with a Luxembourg–based real estate fund on the £125 million acquisition of a significant office building in central London;
  • supporting a student housing provider on the real estate tax implications of the acquisition, development and sale of a wide range of student accommodation developments throughout the UK, including its £28 million acquisition of a student housing scheme in Southampton; and
  • advising on the real estate tax implications of a £2.3 billion distressed UK loan portfolio sale (with an underlying property portfolio spanning office, care homes, department stores, multi-let retail, industrial properties and shopping centers).
