Gavin is a Partner in the Corporate team.
He specialises in all aspects of corporate finance work with a particular emphasis on high value mergers and acquisitions, share sales, business sales and disposals, management buyouts, joint ventures, corporate funding, private equity and venture capitalist investment, corporate reorganisations and restructures and the sale and purchase of assets from insolvent companies.
His portfolio includes large private and public companies operating in a range of sectors, including national mortgage brokers, private equity investment managers, and bollard and barrier manufacturer CAME BPT, as well as many of the UK’s major banks.
Recent examples of how Gavin has supported clients include:
- advising AIB on the multi-million-pound funding of the management buyout of Derby rail recruitment and performance specialists, Ford & Stanley;
- completing a £3 million private equity investment for a leading independent coffee roaster in order to fund a planned expansion programme;
- disposing of a leading civil engineering business to a local authority to enable them to bring highways repair and maintenance functions in-house; and
- acquiring a large Scottish mortgage broker on behalf of the UK’s leading independent mortgage brokering business in order to boost the company’s geographic coverage.
