Joanne is an Associate in the Employment team.

An experienced lawyer, Joanne assists clients on the full range of HR issues including disciplinary and grievances, discrimination, bullying and harassment, as well as issues with senior personal. 

She regularly negotiates exit agreements and advises on restrictive covenants, including responding to companies threatening their enforcement. She drafts GDPR compliant policies and has prepared guidance regarding the furlough scheme. 

Joanne supports individual employees through to listed companies, with specialist knowledge of the manufacturing, retail, construction, transport, energy, recruitment and financial sectors

Recent examples of how Joanne has supported clients include:

  • supporting Isotank Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boasso Global Inc to acquire PM Rees & Sons Limited;
  • advising a client on the avoidance of 100 protective award claims during the pandemic;
  • assisting a client in the energy sector with the dismissal of a Director who raised a number of protected disclosures; and
  • successfully appealing an Employment Tribunal Judgment to the Employment Appeal Tribunal, including a multi-day hearing via a cloud video platform. This case also resulted in a costs award in favour of our client.
