Lauren in an Associate in the Employment team.

She provides tactical employment and HR support to business’s HR and Management teams on a range of issues including disciplinary and grievance procedures, restructures and redundancy consultation, sickness management, performance management, together with many SOSR dismissals of senior personnel, complex harassment and bullying issues, reasonable adjustments, capability dismissals and negotiated exit agreements.

Lauren in experienced in conducting workplace investigations, including disciplinary and appeals against dismissal, and has supported clients in the Employment Tribunal process at all stages at all stages from the drafting of proceedings to case management and preparing the case for hearing.

In addition, Lauren regularly assists in the employment aspects of corporate transactions ranging  from due diligence, negotiating and reviewing warranties and indemnities to numerous collective TUPE consultations.

Lauren’s clients include owners and directors of SME’s in diverse sectors such as manufacturing and education.

Examples of how Lauren has supported clients include:

  • supporting a specialist infrastructure business on its company restructure, including advice on the TUPE transfer and a service provision change, as well as supporting on furlough and the impact of COVID-19;
  • advising the buyer of a construction and engineering machinery hire business on the TUPE transfer of existing employees, including advising on the employment provisions of APA and negotiation of employment warranties and indemnities; and
  • guiding a funeral services business through a disciplinary process involving an employee who had received a complaint from a member of the public regarding their professional conduct, carrying out a substantial investigation and providing recommendations to resolve the disciplinary process which resulted in the employee making the amicable decision to leave the company.
