Simon is a Senior Associate in the Development and Housing & Regeneration teams.
Working with housing associations on development projects and on property transactions and property finance. Specifically, Simon deals with the acquisition of development sites and pre-built units, the negotiation of infrastructure arrangements, the agreement and variation of section 106 planning obligations, compliance with grant funding requirements, debt securitisation and the procurement of third party works.
In addition, Simon also provides advice on property matters affecting the operational base of registered social housing providers, including negotiating lease terms for office space to be occupied by administrative staff or to create business headquarters.
Recent examples of how Simon has supported clients include:
- negotiating a complex section 106 agreement for a regional housing provider where planning permission had to encompass the creation of designated cycle paths, pedestrian walkways and open spaces to ensure the provider qualified for grant funding;
- acquiring 39 development units in the North West of England for Adactus; and
- acquiring 18 development units in Longridge, Lancashire for Mosscare St Vincent’s.
