On 4 January 2021, England entered a third national lockdown. The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (All Tiers) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 were published on 5 January and approved by Parliament on 6 January. Guidance has been produced alongside the Regulations which delivers an even stronger message than is laid out in the law.

The guidance is similar in many ways to the first national lockdown in March 2020, however, it strengthens the November guidance issued in relation to the second national lockdown.
