Bio

Rosemary is a Family Partner.

Rosemary advises clients from a wide range of backgrounds across the UK and internationally on financial arrangements following the breakdown of a marriage or civil partnership.

Her work often involves supporting business owners, including farmers, directors and self-employed individuals, through the complex issues that can arise when business assets, land and other interests need to be considered on divorce.

She also advises on the negotiation and drafting of pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, as well as financial agreements for unmarried couples who are planning to live together. She also supports clients following the breakdown of unmarried relationships, including property disputes and claims relating to children under Schedule 1 of the Children Act.

Rosemary advises on the potential impact of divorce claims where assets are being gifted or placed into trust, and helping clients develop a strategy to safeguard those assets where possible.

Examples of Rosemary’s work include:

  • Advising a client appointed as both attorney and litigation friend for a person lacking capacity in proceedings brought by her former partner, who sought a lump sum order to fund their child’s university costs.
  • Negotiating and completing a Share Purchase Agreement as part of a divorce settlement involving a successful family business.
