Susan is a Commercial Real Estate Partner.
With more than 30 years’ experience, Susan specialises in all aspects of residential development law, with particular experience in residential and mixed-use development schemes.
Her areas of expertise include conditional contracts, site assembly, overage arrangements, affordable housing, option agreements, and planning and infrastructure agreements, sub-sales, easements, restrictive covenants, deferred payments, acquisition and disposal of serviced parcels of land, Section 106 Agreements and other planning agreements, sales of affordable housing both as ‘golden brick’ and ‘turnkey’ transactions, and infrastructure agreements (including highways agreements and utility agreements).
Recognised regarded by the Legal 500 and Chambers directories, Susan handles major projects for housebuilders and landowners, including notable names such as Bellway Homes Limited.
Examples of Susan’s work include:
- Advisng on the acquisition of large development sites, including a former hospital site for mixed-use development.
- Advising on projects involving the Homes and Communities Agency and Regional Development Agencies.
- Acting on the sale of existing sports ground for residential development and securing an alternative sports ground facility for a sports club.
- Acting on the acquisition of a number of sites on a ‘conditional on planning’ basis for a national housebuilder.
- Advising a landowner on an option agreement with a listed housebuilder as part of a site assembly for several hundred units.
- Acting for a housing association on the sale of land with planning permission for mixed use.
