Nick is an Employment Partner.
Nick has experience in advising senior executives – dealing with complex, high-profile and high-value matters including executive exits, conduct and disciplinary matters, executive compensation, settlements, tribunals and High Court matters, and cases involving whistleblowing and discrimination.
Nick often advises C-suite and senior executives in relation to their restrictive covenants, and in circumstances where the individual faces allegations of breaches of restrictive covenants, possible theft of confidential information and team moves. He has also advised in matters involving applications of injunctive relief.
Nick has advised senior individuals who are the subject of investigation into their conduct, often where there are likely to be reputation concerns for the client, and sometimes also regulatory concerns.
He also works with employers of varying sizes including international companies providing operational advice on day-to-day issues, advising on the bringing or defending claims, terminations, drafting bespoke documents and policies, advising on disciplinaries, performance and grievance procedures, as well providing strategic advice on larger projects involving business restructures.
Example of Nick’s experience include:
- Advising a large US-based insurance and reinsurance company in relation to a multi-million-pound High Court claim (which included successfully bringing an injunction) against former senior executives.
- Advising a major logistics company in relation to a redundancy exercise, and exiting senior executives, as well as on their day-to-day HR issues.
- Advising the incoming CEO of an insurance company on the terms of his contract and deferred compensation plans, and negotiating on his behalf.
