Marti Burgess

Marti undertakes a wide range of corporate work including business purchases and sales, share purchases and sales, restructures, management buy-outs and buy-ins, director and shareholder exits, demergers, as well as dealing with general corporate work such as the drafting of shareholder and partnership agreements and the incorporation of companies.

She mainly acts for entrepreneurs, founders and management teams – providing business-critical advice within the wider context of the commercial environment in which her clients operate.

Marti also advises clients on more strategic matters such as preparing a business for investment or sale.

• Acting for a director of a healthcare business and supporting them through a restructure where his business was being demerged from a large healthcare group and becoming a standalone group under his control.
• Acting for the founders of a tech company looking to demerge one part of their business.
• Advising a formation agent on updating their internal procedures to ensure compliance with new regulations.
• Acting for a large co-operative in the agricultural sector as it merged with two similar co-operatives to become the largest in their sector.
