Tara is a Housing & Regeneration Partner.
Tara advises and represents a range of regional and national social housing clients including private registered providers, Local Authorities, ALMOS, supported housing providers, co-operatives and charitable housing providers.
She also regularly provides housing and leasehold management training and legal updates to current clients, and speaks more broadly in settings across the sector.
She has been involved in developing and implementing training programmes for teams within private registered providers and local authorities.
Examples of Tara’s work include:
- Advising clients in the Magistrates, County and High Courts.
- Providing complex advice to a registered provider on granting excluded licences on a supported housing scheme and the technical requirements needed to satisfy this.
- Advising a registered provider in obtaining an injunction under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 to exclude a family member where the tenant was being financially, coercively, physically abused by the family member.
- Advising a registered provider and working with that client and the local authority, CMHT and Adult Social Care in a multi-agency approach to prevent the eviction of an assured tenant for significant hoarding.
- Obtaining a partial closure order for a local authority client preventing the vulnerable tenant from being subjected to cuckooing while alternative housing options were considered.
