Megan is a Commercial Real Estate Senior Associate.
Megan predominantly works with investor clients, pension funds and business owners in acquiring and disposing of commercial properties and land (both registered and unregistered), and commercial lettings (acting for both landlords and tenants).
Megan ensures that clients receive joined-up advice, particularly where acquiring or disposing of commercial assets (whether freehold or leasehold) overlaps with tax, environmental and planning considerations.
She has also supported with transferring commercial properties held in the name of a company to other companies and individuals, and subsequently acted for the individual shareholder in further disposing of the asset.
Examples of Megan’s work include:
- Acting for business owners (as tenant) in respect of the grant of a commercial lease for industrial / warehouse units, involving negotiating the form of lease and 1954 Act documents with the landlord, finalising the form of documents, and dealing with post-completion matters.
- Acting for a local business owner in respect of the grant of a long leasehold interest in a commercial premises, subject to commercial tenancies.
- Acting for an investor client in respect of a title review to report to the client on any rights, restrictions, third-party rights and interests and any other matters affecting land, together with ancillary matters such as drafting a deed of easement, drafting a tenancy at will, drafting a commercial tenancy.
