Lauren is a Mines & Minerals Associate.
Lauren advises landowners and operators across the mines and minerals sector on a broad range of real estate and transactional matters.
Her expertise includes acquisitions and disposals, conditional sale contracts, mineral options, mineral leases, overage and claw back arrangements, pre-emption agreements, options and leases.
She also advises on general real estate matters arising from operators’ wider property portfolios (including commercial leases, agreements for lease and ancillary licenses), alongside preparing, and advising on, wider property transaction documents (including deeds of easement for rights of way and the installation of services).
Examples of Lauren’s work include:
- Advising on the acquisition of surface land for sand and gravel extraction, including the negotiation and completion of a mineral option and lease in circumstances where the seller retained ownership of the minerals.
- Assisting a mineral operator with the acquisition of land to support the expansion of its existing limestone quarry, including advising on the release of restrictive covenants, preparing and negotiating a complex transfer of part, and dealing with associated overage and pre-emption arrangements.
- Supporting private landowners in relation to agreements for the proposed working of minerals by mineral operators on their land.
