John is a Commercial Real Estate Partner.
John has more than 20 years of experience in advising clients on a range of real estate and related corporate matters. His work combines technical property knowledge with a practical, commercial approach.
John has particular expertise in complex estate management issues and the remediation of high-rise residential buildings. This includes advising on inspection and remediation agreements, freeholder issues, right to manage matters and the wider legal and practical challenges that can arise across residential portfolios.
John supports residential and institutional investors, SMEs, lenders and educational institutions across the lifecycle of property ownership and investment, from acquisition and structuring through to management, occupation, disposal and risk resolution.
For real estate clients, John handles acquisitions and disposals, draft and negotiate options and management agreements, and advises on commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters – including leases, leasehold enfranchisement, freeholder obligations and rights of management.
Examples of John’s work include:
- Assisting in the formation and continued support of Academies and Multi-Academy Trusts.
- Advising pharmacy owners in respect of their acquisitions, disposals and Estate Management.
- Advising GPs in respect of their partnership and property matters including Partnership Agreements and lease advice.
