Jessica is a Private Client Partner.
Jessica advises individuals, families, business owners and elderly or vulnerable clients on a wide range of personal, estate planning and later-life matters.
Her work includes the preparation of wills, succession and Inheritance Tax planning, the creation and administration of trusts, probate and estate administration, and the preparation and registration of lasting Powers of Attorney. Her recent work includes successfully appealing funding decisions, advising on variations to wills to preserve valuable tax exemptions, and obtaining medical evidence to support capacity assessments for clients wishing to amend their wills.
Examples of Jessica’s work include:
- Advising on a variation to the terms of a deceased’s will to prevent a residential property being transferred into a discretionary trust and to preserve the estate’s entitlement to a £1 million tax exemption.
- Obtaining medical evidence confirming that an elderly client living with dementia had the requisite mental capacity to amend their will and understood the implications of doing so.
- Successfully appealing a decision not to award NHS continuing healthcare funding, helping a client to secure funding and avoid significant care fees.
