Bio
Helen is a Private Client Associate.
Helen provides advice across areas including estate planning, tax mitigation, trusts, wills, Powers of Attorney, and administration of estates.
She supports and advises individuals, families and business owners who are thinking ahead – from protecting the wealth they have built to planning for the next generation.
Helen also provides will planning advice to individuals with varied domestic settings and backgrounds, whether that be children from former relationships, previous marriages and relationships or cohabitees, taking the time to understand the individuals’ circumstances and priorities. If a claim under the Inheritance Provisions for Family and Dependant’s Act 1975 is anticipated, she will ensure that clients receive joined-up advice to mitigate the risks of such claims arising in the future.
Helen advises on estate administration, including calculating and submitting the Inheritance Tax account, liaising with the revenue, and obtaining the Grant of Probate or Grant of Letters.
Helen is a member of the Society for Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and Lifetime Lawyers.
Examples of Helen’s work include:
- Acting for a married couple who were both previously widowed and seeking Inheritance Tax planning advice and a review of their current wills, structuring the wills in such a way that saved the clients from Inheritance Tax, and avoided the need to consider lifetime gifts to retain financial security in their retirement.
