Our business model

We operate within a mature corporate structure in the UK regional sector where traditional partnerships and limited liability partnerships remain the norm.

We have a highly collaborative culture where people work together in and across locations to deliver growth.

We operate a mature corporate structure, with Knights built on a well-developed scalable platform. This includes unified technology, centralised business services support, and an experienced management team working in lockstep to enable agile decision-making.

Our strategy

Underpinned by our vision of creating the leading regional legal and professional services business, our unique business model enables us to build value by executing our strategy across four pillars:

  • Grow organically

Organic growth during the year was 7.1%. This was achieved alongside our longterm focus on positioning ourselves as a premium services provider and our strategy to optimise our pricing structure.

  • Strategic acquisitions

We are now recognised as a leading consolidator in our sector. With our track record of 29 acquisitions over 14 years, we are well placed to continue to grow through strategic acquisitions as the rate of consolidation increases.

  • Scale the operation

Our strategy and growth is under-pinned by our unique scalable business model and infrastructure.

  • Exploit data and technology

Our core principle of operating on a single client services platform has underpinned our growth, driving collaboration and consistency across the business.

Building a sustainable business that benefits all stakeholders

We believe long-term success is built on strong governance, responsible decision-making and high ethical standards. By investing in our people, technology and business infrastructure, while maintaining a rigorous approach to compliance and risk management, we aim to create lasting value for our clients, colleagues, communities and investors.

Our people and communities are central to who we are. We are committed to fostering a diverse, team-based and meritocracy-driven culture, investing in the development and wellbeing of our colleagues and helping them realise their ambitions. Through volunteering, fundraising and community initiatives, we also encourage our people to make a positive contribution to the places where they live and work.

As a professional services business, our environmental priorities centre on reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency and making better use of resources. We continue to modernise our workplaces, reduce energy consumption, increase recycling and support lower-carbon travel choices as part of our long-term commitment to operating responsibly.
