Abigail is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team.
Abigail qualified as a solicitor in 2021 having completed her training contract, which included a six month secondment to Heathrow Airport's Legal Department during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Abigail became an Associate in October 2024.
Abigail now advises businesses and individuals on a range of commercial disputes, including breaches of contract and misrepresentation claims with a specialism in franchising disputes. She has experience handling complex litigation and has advised in connection with multiple group actions.
Abigail has also been involved in high profile cases such as Dwyer (UK Franchising) Limited v Fredbar Limited and others [2021] EWHC 1218 (Ch), [2022] EWCA Civ 889 and has experience in both the Court of Appeal and Competition Appeals Tribunal in addition to the High Courts, and County Courts.
Abigail is currently acting for a group of former Vodafone franchisees engaged in High Court litigation on issues concerning Braganza duties, implied terms of good faith and the Commercial Agents Regulations 1993.
Examples of Abigail’s other recent work includes:
- Advising in connection with a long-standing and cross-jurisdictional shareholder dispute
- Advising an international franchisor in connection with a claim brought against it in the UK Competition Appeals Tribunal
- Advising a franchisee hotelier based in the United Arab Emirates on a claim brought against it within the English Courts
- Negotiating a settlement in a trademark infringement dispute between Knights’ client and a high profile car manufacturer
- Acting for a nationwide Franchisor in an group action against several former franchisees who acted in concert to unlawfully leave the network
Abigail further advises in connection with brand protection and intellectual property disputes including trademark and copyright infringements.
