Sally is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team.

She has more than 22 years’ experience handling high value commercial disputes in the UK and internationally, including nearly 5 years working in the largest independent law firm in Thailand, where she handled a wide variety of cross border litigation and arbitration claims for multinational corporations and domestic corporate and individual clients. Sally also speaks Thai, enabling her to communicate directly with Thai-speaking clients.

Sally has extensive expertise in complex cross border disputes involving contract, tort and civil fraud, across sectors including shipping, engineering, manufacturing and distribution, commodities, transport and logistics.

She advises a range of commercial clients, from SMEs to multinational and national corporations, as well as individual shareholders/directors and partners.  Her work includes contract and tort claims, shareholder and partnership disputes and Companies Act claims, misrepresentation, breach of confidence, defamation and intellectual property claims including infringement and passing off, trade mark oppositions and invalidation.  She is also experienced in commercial property disputes, such as business lease renewals and dilapidation claims.

She focuses on practical and cost-effective solutions, aiming to settle disputes where possible, including by mediation. When litigation or arbitration is necessary, she provides clear, decisive advice and representation.  She is also experienced in obtaining interim injunctive relief. 

Recent examples of how Sally has supported clients include:

  • Secured an urgent interim High Court injunction for a Dutch company, requiring the delivery up of goods held in a warehouse valued at around £2 million.
  • Represented one of six defendants in a multi million pound claim for unlawful means conspiracy and breach of directors duties, including successful applications for security for costs.
  • Acted in unfair prejudice proceedings in the High Court including derivative claims valued at over £1.3 million.
  • Advising an engineering company in respect of contractual issues relating to the design and manufacture of a new product.
  • Advised a Dubai company in respect of its rights and remedies relating to various multi million dollar energy commodities trading contracts entered into with other international parties.
