Bio

Andrew is an Employment Partner.

Andrew has experience in drafting, amending, and updating contractual terms and conditions. This includes working on policy documentation, including handbooks. Andrew also delivers training to both managers and staff to ensure employers are kept up to date and compliant with legal and best practice standards.

Andrew assists employers with recruitment – particularly in relation to senior level appointments – alongside advising on exits and the termination of employment (seeking to minimise the risk of claims in the Employment Tribunal, and building in lines of defence and mitigation), and TUPE matters.

Andrew also advises employers when dealing with increasingly long and AI-generated grievances, acts on performance, absence and conduct issues, and advises on discrimination issues (including how to avoid or mitigate the risk of discrimination on grounds of all protected characteristics under the Equality Act).

He also advises on, and handles litigation arising from, claims made by employees or former employees, as well as supporting on post-employment restrictions.

Examples of Andrew’s work include:

  • Successfully defending a company against a claim of unfair dismissal and pregnancy discrimination.
  • Advising the board of a large company on dealing with the under-performance of a senior executive and then managing the executive’s departure.
  • Supporting a company through the closure of one office by advising on the employment law implications and handling the necessary redundancies.
