Bio

Bruce is a Private Client Partner.

Bruce support clients with the preparation of wills, trusts and putting in place succession and estate planning, particularly where there are complex family structures or complex family wealth structures involved.

He also works with clients in dealing with the administration of complex estates, particularly where there is a complicated inheritance tax position, alongside supporting trustees in dealing with all matters relating to the administration of a trust including appointing and retiring trustees, their responsibilities and obligations, and how best to achieve the aims of the trust in the circumstances.

Bruce mainly works with individuals and their families to plan for the future as well as managing more complex personal interests. He also works with personal representatives, advising them on their responsibilities and obligations, and helping them navigate the complexities around Inheritance Tax.

Bruce has particular expertise where clients are thinking about succession and how best to structure their affairs to achieve their overall aims, or where an estate presents unusual circumstances (whether relating to the assets within the estate or the Inheritance Tax position).

Examples of Bruce’s work include:

  • Advising on the creation of a trust to receive an interest in land with planning potential to minimise the client’s overall exposure to Inheritance Tax, as well as part of the client’s overall plan to pass on wealth to future generations.
