Bio

Ceri is a Commercial Real Estate Partner.

Ceri specialises in property development, with particular expertise in strategic residential development and the structuring of promotion, option and collaboration agreements.

Supporting landowners, families, trustees, companies, housebuilders, boutique developers, and promoters throughout the full development lifecycle, Ceri’s expertise spans negotiations for strategic land agreements, securing planning permissions, site acquisitions, development financing, overage, equalisation arrangements, easements, restrictive covenant releases, site set-up, land disposal, and the distribution of development proceeds.

Ceri also has significant experience in the acquisition, leasing, and disposal of data centres, including the complex real estate, infrastructure, and operational issues associated with these critical assets.

Examples of Ceri’s work include:

  • Acting for a land promoter in the negotiation and acquisition of option agreements across land parcels owned by different landowners, and advising on the subsequent sub-sale of the assembled development opportunity to a residential developer, including the structuring and negotiation of profit-sharing arrangements.
  • Advising on a complex strategic land transaction involving development land burdened by historic manorial rights, unlocking the development potential of the site and facilitating the subsequent assignment of the option to a leading housebuilder.
  • Advising a residential developer on the acquisition and development of multiple sites, including funding and guarantee arrangements, negotiation of planning, highways agreements, estate management and infrastructure matters.
  • Advising on the acquisition of a portfolio of data centres through both asset and share acquisitions, providing specialist expertise on the unique property and infrastructure issues associated with these assets.
  • Acting for landowners in connection with the grant of an option agreement to a developer for the acquisition of development land – securing the necessary rights to facilitate the future development of retained land, and ensuring flexibility and long-term value for the client.
