Darren is a Plot Sales Senior Associate.
With more than 30 years’ experience and a background working in-house for a construction company, Darren specialises in advising across a range of residential property development matters.
With particular expertise is in development set-up, he assists with technical enquiries on planning, building regulations and development services; managing title problems and development plan issues; and ensuring clients comply with the requirements of the Consumer Code for Housebuilders, Help to Buy, and Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML).
He supports a diverse client base ranging from small builders to some of the country’s largest house builders, with schemes often comprising a mix of houses, apartments, and commercial aspects.
Examples of Darren’s work include:
- Dealing with part-exchange purchases and to help a business achieve their year-end targets.
- Setting up four new developments on mixed schemes including freehold plots, apartments over garages, garage leases, discount market sale properties, First Homes Scheme, and self-build properties.
- Advising on a refurbishment scheme in York, including assisting with a bulk sale of six apartments.
- Setting up more than 20 new-home developments.
- Delivering a range of development schemes, some of which exceeded 1,000 plots.
