Bio

Deborah is a Construction Partner.

Deborah provides construction advice across complex development, infrastructure and capital works projects.

Her expertise includes procurement strategy, project structuring, drafting and negotiating construction contracts, consultant appointments, framework agreements and call-off arrangements (including JCT and NEC4-based documentation). Her work often involves managing funder, purchaser, tenant, governance and operational requirements so that project documentation supports both successful delivery and wider commercial objectives.

Deborah leads the drafting and negotiation of project contract documents for developer clients, delivering residential, commercial and engineering projects of varying scale and complexity. She also advises on the interaction between construction obligations and third-party requirements, including those of funders, purchasers and tenants, so that project documentation supports both delivery and exit objectives.

Deborah also guides business clients acquiring new or refurbished facilities, with a focus on protecting their position in relation to maintenance obligations, defects, remediation and long-term operational risk.

Examples of Deborah’s work include:

  • Advising general counsel and project managers on a portfolio of significant capital building projects for a further education college in the Midlands.
  • Supporting developer clients bringing forward student accommodation schemes across multiple locations.
  • Advising clients on the development of residential care home schemes, including the preparation and negotiation of construction project documents and the management of funder requirements.
