Diane is a Plot Sales Senior Associate.
With more than 35 years’ experience, Diane advises new-build property developers, PLC housebuilders, landowners and public sector bodies across a range of complex residential property and development transactions.
Specialising in residential development setup and plot sales, she acts on a range of matters throughout the development lifecycle including freehold and leasehold disposals and acquisitions, high-value and prime residential transactions, new build purchases and sales, portfolio buy-to-let investments, refinancing and remortgaging.
Diane has particular expertise in development-led work, including part-exchange transactions, affordable housing disposals, shared ownership arrangements, right-to-buy, and discounted market sale schemes.
She also advises on title structuring and risk mitigation, including reviewing complex titles, resolving title defects, advising on unregistered land and negotiating deeds of variation, releases, and covenants, alongside handling infrastructure-related and estate management matters such as easements, road adoption and sewer agreements, substation transfers and transfers of freehold interests to management companies.
Examples of Diane’s work include:
- Advising on site setup for 114 houses with a mixture of freehold and garage leases within a managed site.
- Leading on the disposals of several-hundred plots, including managing a high-volume pipeline of new build sales.
- Acting for a landowner in the disposal of an estate for development involving multiple title interests.
- Overseeing the delivery of affordable housing schemes involving shared ownership, right-to-buy provisions, and discounted market units
- Handling specialist transactions including substation transfers to utility providers and complex deeds of variation and release to unlock development sites burdened by legacy restrictions.
