Douglas works with landed estates, Oxford Colleges, and high-net-worth individuals, and clients with significant rural, strategic, and institutional land portfolios to maximise value, manage risk, navigate challenging negotiations, and meet regulatory requirements.
He advises on the full lifecycle of property and development projects, from initial planning promotion and strategic land agreements through to site assembly, infrastructure arrangements, development sales, and post-completion matters.
Douglas has acted on numerous large-scale residential and renewable developments, guiding landowners and developers including promotion agreements, option agreements, conditional contracts, servicing and disposal strategies, and complex title and estate management issues.
Douglas’ work also encompasses acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, rights of way, easements, and the ongoing management of substantial estates.
He is experienced in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, working alongside planning consultants, surveyors, developers, and other professional advisers to deliver successful outcomes on complex projects.

- Advising landowners, landed estates, and institutional clients on a broad range of complex and high-value property transactions across Oxfordshire and the wider region.
- Acting for the landowner on an option agreement for a proposed theme park development site in Oxfordshire with an estimated gross development value of approximately £300 million.
- Acting for a landowner throughout the lifecycle of a significant strategic residential development in Oxfordshire comprising approximately 660 dwellings.
- Advising a substantial landed estate in Wantage, providing ongoing advice on all aspects of property portfolio management.
