Guy is a Residential Property Solicitor.
Guy oversees the full lifecycle of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, remortgages, transfers of equity, and new build purchases, with particular experience working with high-net-worth individuals.
His expertise spans complex, high-value transactions involving intricate title issues, unregistered land, lease variations, and properties held within trust structures; the property aspects of estate administration (including transfers of property following death, gifts of property, and restructuring of ownership); and sensitive and complex client situations including intra-family transfers, portfolio reorganisations, and transactions involving multiple stakeholders or jurisdictions.
Guy is experienced in identifying and mitigating risk, including undertaking thorough title investigation, raising and responding to enquiries, and ensuring compliance with lender requirements, Land Registry procedures, and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) obligations.
Examples of Guy’s work include:
- Assisting on a recent multi-million pound refinancing, successfully balancing the client’s objectives with the lender’s stringent requirements in a tight timeframe.
- Guiding a first-time buyer through the acquisition of unregistered land, including successfully resolving Land Registry requisitions to secure registration without undue delay.
- Successfully negotiating completion terms on a leasehold London property, aligning the timetable with the client’s related sale.
