Jonathan specialises in residential development, with a particular focus on strategic land projects.
He supports property developers, promoters, housebuilders, landowners across a range of matters including negotiating options, promotion agreements and conditional agreements involving high-value sites; advising on funding and security arrangements; and overseeing multi-party collaboration arrangements and development agreements.
Examples of Jonathan’s work include:
- Acting for a FTSE100 housebuilder on large-scale strategic options on a site in Kent for more than 3000 units.
- Acting for the master developer on a South Canterbury development scheme, securing planning permission for approximately 3,800 units and other mixed uses.
- Acting for a group of landowners in connection with the Heathlands development near Maidstone.
- Acting for the developer on a rooftop penthouse scheme overlooking Lords Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood.
- Advising Quinn Estates on the acquisition of Betteshanger Park from Hadlow College and the subsequent sale of part of the site to Redrow Homes.
- Acting for the promoter of Mountfield Park on land assembly and the property aspects of proposed joint venture and funding arrangements.
- Acting for Persimmon Homes on various strategic land projects across the south of England.
- Acting for a listed housebuilder on options for 3000 units near Dover.
- Advising a master developer on land issues and completing the purchase of land for 4000 units in Canterbury.
