Louise is a Disputes Senior Associate.
Louise has more than seven years’ experience advising on disputes. She has experience in the County Court and High Court, and has a detailed understanding of the relevant court processes and nuances which apply to each.
She advises business owners and individuals, including directors and shareholders, on complex disputes. Her experience extends to assessing the legal and commercial merits of a claim and providing advice on strategy and costs. She provides advice on weighing legal prospects against cost, disruption, reputational risk and the client’s wider objectives with the aim of securing the best achievable outcome, whether through early settlement, robust litigation, mediation, or another form of alternative dispute resolution.
Her work includes breach of contract; shareholder and partnership disputes; professional negligence, recovery of unpaid debts and insolvency, fraud and misrepresentation; and breach of restrictive covenants.
She also has experience on other claims flowing from an employment relationship, such as franchise disputes, intellectual property disputes, disputes arising from property sales and purchases and disputes between property developers, and disputes arising from corporate transactions.
Louise also assists clients with general corporate applications such as those relating to restoring a company to the Register, or making an application to the Court for more time to register a Charge.
Examples of Louise’s work include:
- Overseeing High Court proceedings defending a £2 million claim concerning alleged breaches of intellectual property rights.
- Applying to the High Court for an injunction against an individual who used to work for our client and who was suspected of breaching his post-termination restrictive covenants as detailed within his contract of employment.
- Overseeing High Court proceedings representing the Claimant in a serious fraud matter committed by a previous director of the business.
