Marc is an Employment Associate.
Marc advises on a wide range of employment and HR matters for a broad client base, with particular experience supporting employers and senior employees. He is often the first port of call for employers seeking practical, commercially focused advice on day-to-day workplace issues, helping clients manage HR queries efficiently while reducing legal and operational risk.
Marc regularly advises on the preparation of employment contracts and executive service agreements, including restrictive covenants designed to protect an employer’s legitimate business interests when key employees leave the business. He is experienced in negotiating employment-related agreements and outcomes, using a pragmatic and strategic approach to secure favourable terms while maintaining focus on the client’s wider commercial or personal objectives.
Marc also supports employer clients with disciplinary and grievance procedures, advising on how to conduct investigations, manage hearings, and reach outcomes that are reasonable, proportionate, and defensible. He has experience advising on redundancy processes, including consultation requirements, selection procedures, and the importance of following a fair and transparent process.
Examples of Marc’s work include:
- Advising a senior employee, who was also a director and shareholder of the company, in relation to their exit following a breakdown in the relationship with the other directors and shareholders.
- Acting for an employer client with more than 300 employees in defending employment tribunal claims brought by an individual who alleged unfair dismissal and discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation.
