Solicitor

Bio

Nicolette is a Private Client Solicitor.

Nicolette acts on behalf of individuals and families, particularly in the agricultural industry, to help manage agricultural and personal wealth and plan for the future – whether that’s succession planning to take a step back from farming, securing the farm for further generations, or considering diversification opportunities in the face of an increasingly difficult market.

She assists individuals with the management of their assets, while working closely with their accountants to ensure advice is joined-up with clients’ wider financial and tax planning.

Alongside advising on lifetime gifting to pass assets across generations, Nicolette also prepares wills (ensuring that Partnership Agreements and wills do not conflict with each other and cause issues later down the line).

Examples of Nicolette’s work include:

  • Preparing Partnership Agreements to formalise a client’s existing partnership structure to assist in management of their farming business as part of their wider succession planning.
  • Preparing partnership agreements to introduce new partners into the business to support smooth succession planning.
  • Gifting agricultural property to a client’s child to spread the agricultural property within the farming partnership.
  • Preparing discretionary trust wills for agricultural clients to ensure their wills are flexible for a changing Inheritance Tax landscape and a dynamic family structure.
  • Advising on estate administration for agricultural clients, including the application of Agricultural Property Relief, Business Property Relief, and charity exemptions.
