Bio

Shelley is a Family Associate.

Shelley supports a broad range of clients with all private family law issues, with a particular emphasis on the financial, property and children-related issues arising from a relationship breakdown or divorce – as well as helping them plan for the future by way of pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

She has a keen interest in helping families deal with relationship matters by agreement, through non-court dispute resolution and by encouraging a non-confrontational approach to family problems.

Shelley is a specialist Resolution trained Collaborative lawyer, and is trained as a Resolution Together lawyer, enabling her to assist couples who wish to approach their divorce together with the support and legal advice of one lawyer.

Examples of Shelley’s work include:

  • Advising and representing a broad range of clients regarding the financial issues arising from their separation, including those with small, medium and high-net-worth and dealing with cases involving business interests, tax issues, investments, property portfolios and pensions.
  • Working with clients of all ages including young people in their twenties and thirties, as well as those in their retirement years.
  • Dealing with cases which involve working alongside other professionals and experts including barristers, mediators, collaborative lawyers, valuers, accountants, financial advisers, pension actuaries and family consultants.
  • Helping clients reach amicable financial settlements through various non court dispute resolution options and preparing the legal documents to ensure agreements are legally recorded and enforceable, giving clients certainty and finality so that they can move on to the next chapter of their lives.
  • Assisting clients who are engaged in mediation to resolve financial and children related matters, to include advising on the legal issues, helping to prepare financial disclosure, considering and formulating settlement proposals and reviewing parenting plans.
