Jonathan is a Solicitor in the Restructuring & Insolvency team.
Jonathan has experience in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency. Jonathan frequently works with insolvency practitioners, companies, their directors and litigation funders.
Jonathan provides advice to clients in respect of pre-pack administration sales, insolvency proceedings, winding up petitions and options available to his clients prior to the onset of formal insolvency.
Examples of how Jonathan has supported clients include:
- Undertaking investigatory work on behalf of insolvency practitioners and advising on the potential actions they may have against the previous directors of a company in administration;
- Advising the administrators of a digital media company with assets situated in multiple jurisdictions on a pre-pack administration sale;
- Advising litigation funders in respect of a claim for wrongful trading, breach of director duties and preferences;
- Acting on behalf of an insolvency practitioner to obtain an administration order, affecting their appointment as administrator of a well-known North East brewery.
- Advising the joint administrators throughout a trading administration which resulted in a sale of the business and assets, who also secured all of the jobs of the employees
