Knights’ Corporate team has advised the shareholders of MPP Global Solutions Ltd, the cloud-based subscription management and billing technology business, on the £37.1m sale of the company to Aptitude Software.

MPP Global’s eSuite platform converts and retains paid users for its clients, and is unique in its integration of identity management, customer relationship management and automated subscription billing.

The Cheshire based business counts major global media companies including Sky, News UK, Daily Mail Group, L’Equipe and McClatchy among its clients with around 100 staff located at its Birchwood Park base.

Aptitude Software said the acquisition of MPP Global will strengthen its presence in global technology, media, and telecom sectors where businesses are increasingly adopting subscription models.

The deal marks Knights’ latest advisory work relating to MPP Global with Knights having advised the company during the previous 5 years, which included various growth and investment transactions. David Hayes led the deal from Knights’ team with support from Adrian Rogers, Matthew Hitchen, Josh Temple, Kate Featherstone and Jade Edgar.

Paul Johnson, founder and outgoing CEO of MPP Global, commented: “It was a pleasure working with David and the rest of the Knights team. They helped us navigate the legal complexities of selling a company and made it very easy for us. The breadth and depth of the Knights’ specialists meant a full service could be provided, which further accelerated the sales process.”

David Hayes, Partner at Knights, commented: “The team are pleased to have been exclusive legal advisory team to the shareholders of MPP Global and to have worked successfully alongside EY Corporate Finance again. The transaction, our latest in the software technology sector, shows that we continue to strengthen our active presence in the mid-market deals sector advising on top quality deals with top quality business professionals. Well done to everyone involved.”
