Knights’ Corporate team supported the shareholders of SV Timber on their sale to the National Timber Group – which is owned by private investment firm Cairngorm Capital Partners.
Established in 2004 by Ed Holder, the East Midlands-based specialist timber merchant provides a broad range of timber materials across and recently supplied the Commonwealth Games.
Its sale to the National Timber Group, for an undisclosed price, will support its growth over the coming years.
The transaction supports the National Timber Group’s growth strategy, extending its range of services and adding SV Timber’s key locations in Alfreton, Ilkeston and Leicester to its growing branch network.
They were advised by Knights’ specialist team – led by James Maynard and Martin Smith, with support by Grace Hill and Callum Fotheringham.
Additional support was provided by Johanne Jackson on employment matters, Jade Edgar on transaction tax matters and Erin Vickers on real estate matters.
Ed Holder, Founder and Managing Director of SV Timber, said:
“We are delighted to be remaining in the business to support its integration into the wider business.
“As the founder of the business, I am extremely proud of what the team at SV Timber has achieved to this point. We know that the business is capable of achieving much more over the coming years.
“The priority was to find a partner with shared goals and values who would help us to fulfil the future potential. We were impressed with National Timber Group's focus on product quality and its commitment to the highest standards of customer service."
James Maynard, Corporate Partner at Knights said:
“We are delighted to have supported the shareholders of SV Timber on the sale of the business that they have worked hard to establish and grow over the last 18 years.
“It has been a pleasure working with them and we wish them all the best with the future of the business and with the National Timber Group.”
The shareholders of SV Timber were also advised by Cooper Parry.
