A dental care partnership with more than 40 surgeries across the North East of England has announced a partnership with another of the UK’s leading providers – in one of the largest-ever dental business transactions in the UK.

Queensway Group has more than 40 surgeries in eight locations in the North East and has built a reputation for leading dental, orthodontic, laboratory and skin services.

The Group’s managing partners announced the completion of a deal to enter into partnership with Dentex – which has more than 150 dental practices nationwide.

Queensway Group worked alongside legal advisors at Knights, teams at Christie & Co, and Inspire Financial Management.

Knights’ team was led by dental specialist Jonathan Tyson, Corporate Partner, with support from Jonathan Hill, Mandy Holdcroft, Henry Davenport, Saskia Robinson, Nina Robinson, Stena Rham, Megan Whiston and a number of other colleagues.

The partnership between Queensway Group and Dentex will build on Queensway’s 29 years’ experience in the sector – bringing opportunities into new locations and areas of expertise.

Queensway Group was founded by Paul Averley in 1994. He has been at the heart of the Group’s growth since then and now works alongside partners Guy Deeming, Richard Elliott, Ian Lane, Paul Howlett, William Carter, Uzma Olbrich, Rob Banks, and Matthew Garnett.

Paul Averley, Managing Partner at Queensway Group, said:

"We’re looking forward to this new and exciting chapter in the life of Queensway Dental. Working with Dentex will secure the future and longevity of the Queensway brand and will provide stability for our amazing team and patients. This will create excellent opportunities and enable us to grow and develop, while continuing to provide high standards of clinical care for our patients."

Jonathan Tyson, Partner at Knights, said:

“This is a landmark deal and fantastic news for the Queensway Group – we are really pleased to have been able to support the team. It has been obvious how much work has gone into building Queensway’s hard-earned reputation over almost 30 years, so it was important to make sure everything fits with their future growth plans. Dentex definitely aligns with those plans. We are looking forward to seeing the partnership flourish.”

As well as Knights’ Corporate team, Queensway Group was advised by Christie & Co’s agency and consultancy teams, as well as Inspire Financial Management. Dentex was advised by PwC, and legal advisors Charles Russell Speechlys.

Oliver Snowden, Director of Partnerships & Acquisitions at Dentex, said:

“I was delighted that the Queensway Partners chose to partner with Dentex – they’re something truly unique. The vision of the owners to build such a diverse and forward-thinking business is remarkable. We now look forward to getting to know the wider team and supporting the business with its exciting growth plans.”

Knights is one of the fastest-growing legal and professional services businesses in the UK – ranked within the top 50 UK law firms by revenue.
