Knights has advised Fitz & Knox, part of the Urban Centric group, on a refinancing deal with Handelsbanken to support the group’s continued growth and development pipeline.

The Knights team acted for the borrower on the transaction, helping Fitz & Knox secure the refinancing as Urban Centric continues to scale its development activity. The deal builds on Knights’ established relationship with the wider group, including advising on the refinancing of Student Living in Exeter earlier this year.

Located in the heart of Cardiff, Fitz & Knox is Wales’ first Co-Living scheme, introducing a unique residential concept to the city that combines high-quality accommodation with a fully inclusive lifestyle offering. Residents benefit from access to an extensive range of premium amenities and services, all designed to enhance everyday living.

Andrew Woods, Managing Director of Urban Centric said: “Securing this refinancing for Fitz & Knox is a major milestone for Urban Centric. Bringing a leading bank such as Handelsbanken on board is an important measure of confidence in the co-living sector.

“It strengthens our balance sheet and gives us the financial flexibility to continue scaling our development pipeline and progressing our growth plans over the coming months.

“Working with Knights on this transaction—our second refinancing with the team this year—is testament to their conviction, capability and overall approach. They were incredibly diligent and highly pragmatic in their thinking; it genuinely felt as though they were a seamless extension of the Urban Centric team throughout the process.”

The Knights team comprised Real Estate lawyers, Claudia Le Gros, Charlotte Macphail and Mary Cocchiara. Knights worked alongside Sam O’Callaghan and OPC Law on the transaction.
