Knights has strengthened its family law offering in Cheltenham with the appointment of Helen Benussi as Partner.
Helen brings a distinctive combination of legal and financial experience to the role. Before qualifying as a lawyer in 2014, she worked as a tax accountant for 15 years. She subsequently spent 12 years managing a respected family firm – which specialised in divorce.
Her financial background supports the forensic examination of clients’ and their spouses’ finances, helping to identify unusual transactions and discrepancies. Helen also specialises in children matters, including cases involving children who have become isolated from a parent during divorce proceedings.
Helen Benussi, Partner at Knights, said:
“Having run a law firm for 12 years, I wanted to join an organisation that matched my own values in business. It is important to me to know that my clients will be well looked after. At Knights, I can focus on client work without being distracted by the management of the business.”
Commenting on the increasing sophistication of financial investigations in family cases, Helen added:
“It is more difficult to hide assets now than it was 30 years ago. We have the technology to investigate all avenues and uncover hidden assets.”
Andy Day, Regional Client Services Director at Knights, added:
“I’m very excited to see Helen join Knights – in what is a major coup for our Cheltenham office.
“Helen is a real expert in her field, and she will only add to the already premium family experience our clients achieve – both locally, in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, but also further afield.
“Helen’s appointment is another clear example of our organisation’s determination to bring in the very best, high-quality individuals across the regions – generating organic growth through investment in our people.”
