Matthew is an Associate in the Residential Property team.

He is an experienced property lawyer who prides himself on excellent communication, creative problem solving, time management and clear and understandable advice to his clients.

Having worked in numerous different environments locally Matthew deals with a wide variety of property related transactions from park homes to new build, auctions, high value properties and complex unregistered leasehold and freehold land and property. Other property matters which Matthew regularly advises on include defective title issues, easements and lease variations.

Clients include first time buyers to high net worth individuals, companies and trusts.

Recent examples of how Matthew has supported clients include:

  • Dealing with a large and complex first registration of approximately 700 acres of unregistered land;
  • Reconstructing title to a client’s property where their title deeds had been lost;
  • Completing the purchase of a high-rise apartment following the implementation of the Building Safety Act 2002 and ensuring his client secured the protections afforded under the Act;
  • Completing the purchase of a new build property within four days to secure the buyer an attractive discount;
  • Acting for a client in the purchase of a property at auction and subsequent self-build mortgage;
  • Registering a right of way to a client’s property based on long use which was crucial to be able to secure a sale.
