Bernard is a lawyer and Partner in the Planning team.
He advises clients across all elements of the planning process, including planning applications, complex agreements, appeals, enforcement investigations, policy development, and Judicial Reviews. His clients include residential and commercial developers, aviation and leisure companies, and public sector bodies.
Bernard has particular expertise in resolving aviation objections to wind farms and regularly negotiates related planning and commercial agreements to facilitate renewable energy development. He also specialises in drafting and negotiating bespoke and often contentious section 106 planning obligations.
With private practice experience in both the UK and Australia, Bernard also advises on all types of local authority licensing matters. He has appeared as an advocate in court and at Council committee hearings.
Bernard works as part of the firm’s multi-disciplinary planning offering that includes lawyers and Chartered Town Planners supporting clients through complex, large-scale development and regeneration projects.
