Deborah is a Partner in the Construction team, based in Birmingham.
Deborah has 35 years of experience working within the construction and engineering industries and her career has spanned both dispute resolution and transactional work. Deborah supports property developers and occupiers, investors, construction contractors and professionals negotiating and drafting development and construction project documents including, standard and bespoke building and engineering contracts (JCT, NEC4, NEC3, MF/1, ICC), professional appointments, collateral warranties and construction finance documents.
She leads projects delivering facilities as diverse as new and refurbished estates for universities and higher education; residential development; infrastructure projects; warehousing; office and retail; commercial/business parks; and green energies.
Recent examples of how Deborah has supported clients include:
- Advising Otterpool Park LLP on all aspects of the development of the infrastructure requirements for new garden town in Kent. Drafting and negotiating a series of framework agreements for infrastructure and master-planning with professional consultants and infrastructure contractors;
- Regularly advising residential and commercial developers and drafting and negotiating construction project documents. Undertaking negotiations with funders and institutional investors;
- Advising on, drafting and negotiating construction project documents (building contracts, professional appointments, security documents, warranty documents) with contractors, professional team and funders in respect of 2 £30m+ high-end high rise student accommodation projects;
- Producing series of template NEC4 contracts and sub-contracts for leading facilities management company to roll out for all capital asset works and delivering in house training to legal and surveying teams.
