Elaine is a Senior Associate in the Employment team.
She provides clear, practical, contentious and non-contentious expert employment law advice to business owners and to individuals across a range of sectors (including professional services, health, education, hospitality, construction , design and more). Elaine’s advice covers day to day employee relations matters - handling performance issues, disciplinary matters investigations, disputes, grievances, regulatory issues and Data Subject Access requests (including managing data breaches).
Elaine’s areas of expertise include whistleblowing, redundancy, workplace discrimination - in particular disability discrimination, maternity discrimination, TUPE, drafting bespoke Director Service Agreements and negotiating severance agreements. She represents clients before employment tribunals and regulatory bodies, including the Teaching Regulation Authority.
Recent examples of Elaine’s work include:
- Advising business owners on restructuring and redundancy processes.
- Advising businesses and individuals in relation to whistleblowing and discrimination claims including sexual harassment claims.
- Negotiating settlement agreements for senior executives and directors.
- Representing clients in Employment Tribunal claims involving safeguarding, discrimination and gross misconduct.
- Drafting bespoke contractual documents, policies and procedures.
Advising on enforceability of and release from Restrictive covenants
Elaine participates in responses to Government Consultation exercises in relation to new Employment legislation, she is a Trustee of North & West Kent Citizens Advice and is fluent in French. She regularly presents training on all aspects of Employment Law.
