Hallam is a Solicitor in the Commercial team.
Hallam completed a degree in Law at Leeds Beckett University where he was awarded a prize for best student in Intellectual Property Law in 2018 before going on to study for a Masters in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Leeds, achieving a distinction.
He carried out his training contract at a leading boutique firm specialising in intellectual property in Leeds and completed the Legal Practice Course before qualifying as a Solicitor in January 2025. He assists in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters and is experienced in aiding clients at various stages of the intellectual property right lifespan, from securing the rights of clients through registration to assisting in complex litigation matters in the Court of Appeal.
Hallam has previously advised in relation to the full range of intellectual property rights, with a particular focus on disputes involving the infringement of copyright and trade marks. A notable case that he has worked on is Penhallurick v MD5 Ltd [2021] EWCA Civ 1770: a Court of Appeal decision relating to the ownership of literary copyrights subsisting in software and the proprietorship of copyright works created during the course of employment.
