Helen is a Partner in the Housing & Regeneration team.

With extensive experience in supporting the housing sector, Helen specialises in housing management with a focus on anti-social behaviour and a particular interest in tenancy fraud.

Helen works exclusively for housing providers dealing with a range of multifaceted matters. Helen’s areas of expertise include advising on and dealing with complex possession and injunction cases involving anti-social behaviour, fraud, capacity, mental health, and Equality Act issues.

Having worked in the sector since qualification, including previously working both in-house at a local authority and in private practice, Helen has a deep understanding of the challenges and pressures social housing providers face and works in partnership with her clients to achieve practical and effective solutions.

Examples of how Helen has supported clients include:

  • Conducting a successful appeal in a widely reported subletting case which provided guidance on calculating unlawful profit orders Poplar HARCA v. Begum & Rohim [2017] UKHC 2040 (QB);
  • Obtaining one of the first multi-party civil injunctions against minors; and
  • Obtaining one of the first joint youth and adult civil injunctions in the country following the introduction of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
